The couple Edward and Connie Sumner can only be envied - they enjoy a family idyll together with their son eight years old, a dog and a housekeeper. Sumner live in a quiet suburb of New York and lead a calm, measured lifestyle. However, the monotonous existence of the spouses suddenly comes to an end when Connie in Soho meets a young man.
