Independence Day / День независимости (1996)

A huge alien ship close to our planet on July 2nd. From him we separated small ships that entered the Earth's atmosphere, and now no one knows what to expect from this visit. However, it soon becomes clear that the aliens were not with peaceful intentions, and at night the ships begin the mass extermination of the largest cities in the world. Huge wave of hot plasma destroy everything in its path: machines, plants, buildings, people. The next day, the US Air Force are trying to attack the alien ships, but they are protected by a force field and become invulnerable. However, one pilot cunning managed to shoot down enemy ships and capture a wounded stranger, which he delivers to the Air Force base in the zone 51.
