New recruits are brought to a training camp, where they are prepared for future service through grueling training and inhumanly difficult psychological tests. But even such conditions cannot compare with the hell that awaits former boys in the war.
This Stanley Kubrick film was released in the late 80s, when the theme of the Vietnam War in American cinema was experiencing a kind of renaissance. For the "Full Metal Jacket", the director basically selected young and unknown actors for the roles of soldiers, explaining that it was not adult men who fought in Vietnam, but young men, almost boys.
