Nellie McKay (Nell Marie McKay) was born on April 13, 1984 in London, England, but grew up in America. Nellie is the daughter of actress Robin Pappas. When she was 2 years old, Nellie's family moved to Manhattan, New York and then to the Poconos, Pennsylvania before returning to New York in 2000. McKay attended the Manhattan School of Music but dropped out, continuing however to pursue her music career.
6 of Nellie McKay's musical compositions were included in the soundtrack to the Hollywood film "Rumor Has It..." directed by Rob Reiner, which was released in 2005. And in 2007 for the famous "PS: I Love You" Nellie wrote and performed the song of the same name.
